Labor

You are required to use Palace of Fine Arts union stage technicians to set up and operate lighting, sound and staging for your show. Our technical director determines crew requirements.

You are required to use Palace of Fine Arts ticket takers and door guards. Our house manager will work with you to fill the required number of ushers and security personnel from Palace staff or your personnel or volunteers. Staffing the box office is the responsibility of the producer.

One house manager is included in the basic rental rate. The Palace may require an assistant House Manager (for an additional fee) on large complex shows.

Janitorial service is provided in the lobby, theatre and backstage area once a day after the event. Additional fees will be charged for extra services that you require. These services may include labor and additional dumpster service required to remove trash during or after the event.

Insurance

You are required to provide either a certificate of insurance or purchase insurance through the Palace. The certificate should name the Palace and the City and County of San Francisco as additional insured. The limit of the policy shall be one million dollars and cover public liability, personal injury, property damage, copyright infringement (when applicable) and product liability (when applicable). Rates for purchasing insurance through the League are based on the type of performance. The average cost per show is $250 with discounts for multiple shows. Full compliance with this provision is a condition of the use of the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre.

Notes

*  Rental rates as of 1/1/2010. Rates subject to change.

***  Charge per day - actual charge based on amount of equipment needed. Multi-day rates are available.
